How We Can Pay for Health Reform


The U.S. faces the challenging question of how to finance health reform, which is estimated to cost $1.5 trillion over 10 years. In a new brief, UI researchers examine realistic sources of savings and sources of revenue that could be used to pay for health reform. These measures encourage the burden to be spread broadly and explore several proposals for delivery system reforms. The introduction of a public plan option and a reduction in Medicare and Medicaid payments are also examined. read more
