About the Federal Service Desk (FSD)

Purpose: The purpose of the Federal Service Desk (FSD.gov) is provide help to the visitors to the systems (websites) that FSD supports so that they can get the information and assistance they need from those systems.

What Systems FSD Supports: If you use the following systems, contact FSD for help when you need it:

Monday July 30, 2012, FSD began supporting the System for Award Management (SAM). SAM is a new system that will be consolidating the capabilities and data of various systems that support federal procurement and award processes. Phase 1 of SAM will include the capabilities currently provided via Central Contractor Registration (CCR)/Federal Agency Registration (FedReg), Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) and the Excluded Parties List System (EPLS). You can find additional information about SAM and answers to frequently asked questions at http://sam.gov.

Goal: A strategic goal of the Federal Service Desk is to understand and improve the user experience on the systems that the Federal Service Desk supports. In doing so, FSD provides several ways in which you as the user of these systems can get help:

  • Use self service by searching in the FSD.gov Answer Center, with many ways to search, so you can get in, get out and move on with what you need to do.
  • Complete a Service Request form on FSD.gov, tell us what issue you have and how we can contact you and we will get back to you with help.
  • Phone us toll-free toll free for US Calls at 866-606-8220; or International Calls may phone us at 334-206-7828; US military can access our toll free number through the DSN: 866-606-8220.
