TechStat

TechStat uses agency reported investment information from the IT Dashboard as a launch pad for review of the Federal IT portfolio. The TechStat review process detects IT investment problems early, reduces waste, and increases the rate of successful project completion.

Data.gov

Data.gov is a citizen-friendly platform that provides access to Federal datasets. With a searchable data catalog, Data.gov helps the public find, access, and download non-sensitive Government data and tools in a variety of formats.

USASpending.gov

The Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 (Transparency Act) requires a single searchable website, accessible by the public for free that includes for each Federal award:

1. the name of the entity receiving the award;
2. the amount of the award;
3. information on the award including transaction type, funding agency, etc;
4. the location of the entity receiving the award;
5. a unique identifier of the entity receiving the award.

USAspending.gov, a re-launch of www.fedspending.org, provides this information to the public, as collected from federal agencies, in an easy to use website. The data is largely from sources: the Federal Procurement Data System, which contains information about federal contracts; and the Federal Assistance Award Data System, which contains information about federal financial assistance such as grants, loans, insurance, and direct subsidies like Social Security.

IT Dashboard

The IT Dashboard gives the public and agency leaders unprecedented visibility into the operations and performance of Federal IT investments, and the ability to provide direct feedback to those accountable.

Whitehouse.gov

On January 21, 2009, President Barack Obama signed a memorandum directing heads of executive departments and agencies to create a geovernment that is transparent, participatory, and collaborative.

Departments & Agencies

On December 8, 2009, Peter R. Orszag, Director of the Office of Management & Budget, issued a memo entitled Open Government Directive. This memorandum directs executive departments and agencies to take specific actions to implement the principles of transparency, participation, and collaboration set forth in the President's Memorandum on Transparency and Open Government, issued January 21, 2009.

One of the actions was for each agency to create an Open Government Webpage to serve as the gateway for agency activities related to the Open Government Directive. Below are links to these pages.
