  • Great Shakeout Earthquake drill
    Marlborough School will host an EQuake disaster scenario drill with moulage applied acting victims. Visitors and observers include the LAPD and LAFD Juvenile response teams.

  • Hoya Fall Picnic
    This is the second annual "Hoya Fall Picnic" at Georgetown University. The picnic celebrates September as both the start of a new school year and also as National Preparedness Month. We will have burgers, hot dogs, fruit, snacks, soft drinks, raffles, prizes, kids games, and much more! Representatives from the DC Fire & EMS Department (FEMS), DC Homeland Security & Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA), Georgetown Emergency Response Medical Service (GERMS), the Department of Public Safety (DPS), and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) will be on hand to discuss individual preparedness and safety. In addition, trucks will be on display for kids (young and old!) to see and learn about.

  • Tailgate Preparedness
    Preparedness and Football! As Ole Miss and Texas break for half time tailgaters will learn the importance of preparing for a disaster. Disaster Kit, Pet Preparedness and Family Communication Plan discussed.
