Uranium Survey Form Changes

2012 Proposals

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) is proposing changes to its uranium data collections beginning in 2013 with the 2012 data collection. These changes involve the following three forms:

  • Form EIA-851A, "Domestic Uranium Production Report (Annual),"
  • Form EIA-851Q, "Domestic Uranium Production Report (Quarterly)," and
  • Form EIA-858, "Uranium Marketing Annual Survey."

Announced to the public via a Federal Register Notice published on August 27, 2012, the EIA has submitted an information collection request to the OMB for extension under the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. The information collection requests a three-year extension of its Uranium Data Program, OMB Control Number 1905-0160. The proposed collection will modify and continue the use of Form EIA-851A “Domestic Uranium Production Report (Annual),” Form EIA-851Q “Domestic Uranium Production Report (Quarterly),” and the Form EIA-858 “Uranium Marketing Annual Survey.” EIA proposed minor changes to Form EIA-851Q and its reporting instructions, and to the reporting instructions to Form EIA-851A and Form EIA-858. Comments regarding this proposed information collection must be received on or before September 26, 2012. Written comments should be sent to the DOE Desk Officer, Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, Office of Management and Budget, New Executive Office Building, Room 10102, 735 17th Street NW., Washington, DC 20503.  And to Department of Energy, U.S. Energy Information Administration, Attn: Douglas Bonnar, EI-23, Forrestal Building, 1000 Independence Avenue SW., Washington, DC 20585, 202-586-1085, Fax at 202-586-3045, Email at douglas.bonnar@eia.gov.
