Health Security Scoring November 2010 - Gulf of Mexico Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Biosurveillance relevant sources scored by the Department of Homeland Security's National Biosurveillance Integration Center (NBIC) in support of situational awareness development. For more information about the NBIC's mission, please see public law 110-53, Implementing Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007. The Health & Security Real Simple Syndication (HSRSS) standard allows the National Biosurveillance Integration Center (NBIC) to provide biosurveillance information to the public in support of the Open Government initiative using an open standard that is derived from the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM), Atom / Real Simple Syndication (RSS), and GeoRSS. Information that is disseminated with this schema has been processed by NBIC in support of its mission as defined by public law 110-53.
