Rep. Kissell Discusses American Manufacturing at Premiere Fibers in Ansonville

ANSONVILLE, NC – Rep. Larry Kissell (NC-08) visited Premiere Fibers to meet with employees and tour the facility last week. Kissell was joined on the tour by Premiere Fibers’ President John Amirtharaj, Administrative Applications Technician Amanda Owens and Administrative Manager Jane Cauble. The group discussed the importance of promoting American-made products and expanding American manufacturing.

Premiere Fibers specializes in producing yarns that are used for industrial, military and apparel needs. One important application of these fibers is their use in American flags manufactured by Valley Forge Flags, the same flags that fly over the U.S. Capitol in honor of Americans across the country.

“Expanding and promoting American manufacturing is one of the most common-sense ways to help our nation’s economic recovery efforts,” said Kissell. “I spent 27 years in the textile industry and have seen the huge benefits domestic production brings. I’ll continue to make domestic manufacturing a top priority and remind people in Washington that it is industries such as Premiere Fibers that provide invaluable, American-made products that not only clothe us but also help us run our businesses. I regularly present the flags that fly over our nation’s Capitol to veterans, schools, and military and first responder heroes. I am proud to know that they are made in part in our district.”

Amirtharaj thanked Kissell for his time and for his commitment to protecting and promoting jobs here in the U.S.

“The visit went very well,” said Amirtharaj. “We appreciate the Congressman doing all the good things for the textile industry. He really fights for U.S. jobs and we appreciate that very much. Businesses like Premiere Fibers cannot be successful if we don’t get some support from the Federal Government as well as the State Government.”
