Federal Agencies—Getting Help

Residents of the 8th Congressional District of North Carolina can contact me for assistance in dealing with Federal agencies.

  •     Are you having difficulties with any Federal government agencies?
  •     Do you have a pending application that is taking too long to clear?
  •     Are you having difficulty reaching a human being at a governmental agency?
  •     Or do you simply have a complaint that deserves appropriate attention?

I can help to make sure that your concerns receive a response.

Please Note: The Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. § 552a) requires that Members of Congress or their staff have written authorization before they can obtain information about an individual's case. We must have your signature to proceed with this type of request.

For your convenience, I have provided a printable release form that you can use. Simply type in the necessary information, print out the form, sign it and mail or fax it to me at my Concord district office. If you are not able to print out a release form, my staff will mail one to you.

You can always call my district offices to discuss your concerns with a member of my staff.

Please include all pertinent information and claim numbers in your correspondence—such as:

  •     Your Social Security number for a case involving Social Security;
  •     VA claim number for a case with Department of Veterans Affairs;
  •     Taxpayer identification number (Social Security number, if individual) for an Internal Revenue Service problem, etc.;
  •     Your address, home phone and daytime phone number (if different than home) so we can obtain any additional information that might be necessary;
  •     Copies of any related documents or correspondence that you may have from the agency involved.

You can always call my district offices to discuss your concerns with a member of my staff.
