This Saturday Mike enjoyed helping students and staff from The Nettelhorst School celebrate the opening of their Outdoor Classroom. It's always a great day when our kids have more access to the outdoors and conservation education.- Mike was happy to hear from so many constituents at today’s German-American Festival Senior Luncheon. The 47th Ward Senior Council worked with the United German-American Societies of Greater Chicago to serve lunch to 500 seniors.

The Chicago Department of Transportation released the city’s first ever Chicago Pedestrian Plan, which identifies infrastructure enhancements, policies and programs to increase safety, reduce pedestrian and vehicle conflicts, and make Chicago a healthier, more livable city. Mike is proud to once again support the mission of the USA Warriors Ice Hockey at this great event next week. Joining Mike on Team Lawmakers will be Rep. Brian Higgins and Senator John Kerry, along with a bipartisan group of congressional staffers.- Mike stopped by Ravenswood Remix this weekend and met with Diana Kayser from the festival’s volunteer staff. Ravenswood Remix is a two-day art festival in Chicago featuring art made from recycled and found materials, with net proceeds benefitting local school art programs.
- Mike enjoys traditional Polish food at the Taste of Polonia with Dominika Przybyl, former 5th district intern and Les Sraga of Stawski Distributing. Held at the Copernicus Center, the Taste of Polonia features old-fashioned food and live music from Poland.
