Duncan Statement on Libyan Attacks

Sep 13, 2012 Issues: Foreign Affairs

The murder of four American diplomats, including United States Ambassador Chris Stevens, is an unforgivable attack and a national tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with all of their families during this difficult time, along with my hope that swift and thorough justice will be carried out against those who perpetrated this heinous crime. The situations in both Egypt and Libya are a direct assault on US sovereignty, which is why it’s alarming that our government's initial reaction would be to apologize. Americans have nothing to apologize for, and every reason to be disgusted, outraged, and concerned by what has taken place. There’s no excuse or justification for this type of violent behavior.
