Actually you're at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, which is different from the Mint. We make coins!

Most U.S. coin production starts with the arrival of coils - rolled-up strips of flat metal. A coil can weigh up to 10,000 pounds!

Die Blanks are hubbed (adding the design) at room temperature in a process called cold forging. This method eliminates thermal expansion.

The die shop is where the tooling that makes the coins is formed, treated and finished.
