Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee Meeting
and Public Forum July 28, 2005

What:
The Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) will hold a public meeting on Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. and a public forum at 4 p.m. at the Moscone (West) Center in San Francisco.

The purpose of the meeting is to conduct business associated with the CCAC’s responsibility to advise the Secretary of the Treasury on themes and designs pertaining to United States coinage. Immediately following the public meeting, the CCAC will hold a public forum on coin design issues – past, present and future.

Topic (subject to change):

  • To consider reverse designs for the American Eagle Platinum Proof Bullion coins for the new American Pillars of Democracy Series beginning in 2006 with the Legislative Branch, continuing in 2007 with the Executive Branch, and ending with the Judiciary Branch in 2008.
  • Who:
    Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC)
    Pursuant to United States Code, Title 31, section 5135 (b)(8)(C), the CCAC was established to:

  • Advise the Secretary of the Treasury on any theme or design proposals relating to circulating coinage, bullion coinage, Congressional gold medals, and national and other medals produced by the Secretary in accordance with section 5111 of title 31, United States Code;
  • Advise the Secretary of the Treasury with regard to the events, persons, or places that the Committee recommends to be commemorated; and
  • Advise the Secretary of the Treasury with respect to the mintage level for any commemorative coin recommended.

    Public Forum — Thursday, July 28, 2005, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
