HealingWell: Lupus

Healingwell.com is a neatly designed website with an online support group for people with chronic illnesses. There is a specific lupus community with numerous message boards that allow patients to interact with each other and offer support.

The section on lupus has suggestions for exercise and treatments. An article on a study that used psychotherapy to tackle lupus says that patients in the therapy group had significantly reduced levels of depression, anxiety and daily stress -- along with significant improvement in quality of life -- compared to those in the control group.

Program objectives:
  1. Provide social network and community resource for patients, caregivers and families coping with diseases, disorders and chronic illness.

HealingWell.com offers community support forums and chat rooms, articles, medical news, videos, free email, a monthly newsletter and a resource directory on a wide range of health conditions. Health content is contributed by reputable health organizations, including the National Institutes of Health, Mediwire and e-HealthSource.
