The National Umbrella Cooperative Agreement (NUCA) Program

Title: The National Umbrella Cooperative Agreement (NUCA) Program

Deadline: August 2, 2010

Awards: $2,275,000. Up to 9 awards available

Project Period: 5 years, September 1, 2010 to August 31, 2015

Purpose: To support projects, strategies, and interventions which efficiently and effectively address one of the following areas:
  1. improve access to care for targeted racial and ethnic minority populations;
  2. address social determinants of health to achieve health equity for targeted minority populations through projects of national significance;
  3. reduce youth violence (including gang violence) among targeted minority populations;
  4. increase the diversity of the health related work force; and
  5. increase the knowledge base and enhance data availability for health disparities and health equity activities
Eligibility: The applicant must be a private, nonprofit national minority-serving organization, with at least 5 years of experience working with targeted minority populations and have the capacity to address the issues within the category under which they are applying. Tribes and Tribal Organizations are eligible.
