2012 – 2017 Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement
This Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) analyzes potential environmental, social, and economic impacts associated with the proposed 2012-2017 Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program (the Program). This PEIS evaluates the potential impacts from oil and gas exploration and development on six planning areas of the Outer Continental Shelf. The PEIS presents eight alternatives, including seven action alternatives and a No Action Alternative. The analyses in the PEIS adopt a broad regional perspective; more detailed and geographically-focused analyses will be done as the Program progresses from the planning to the leasing to the exploration and development stages.
