Mail Management Overview

GSA helps agencies make a difference in mail center operations, policy, security, and best practices.  These efforts involve:

  • Assist in the development of agency policy and guidance in mail management and mail operations
  • Develop and provide access to a Governmentwide management information system for mail
  • Establish, develop and maintain interagency mail committees
  • Identify better business practices and share them with all federal agencies
  • Help agencies develop performance measures and management information systems for mail
  • Host a website for mail management policy
  • Maintain a current list of agency mail managers
  • Serve as a liaison for federal agencies to USPS and all mail service providers at the national level
  • Serve as a point of contact for all mail issues
