Assignment - In Original Medicare, assignment is the agreement by your doctor, other health care provider, or supplier to be paid directly by Medicare, to accept the payment amount Medicare approves for the service, and not to bill you for any more than the Medicare deductible and coinsurance.

Group Practice - A group practice includes two or more physicians and/or other healthcare professionals organized to provide patient care services (regardless of its legal form or ownership).

Group Practice Locations - The locations of group practices, clinics, or other facilities where physicians provide services.

Healthcare Professional - Other types of health professionals, who are not physicians, including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, psychologists, and physical therapists.

Office Locations - The locations where an individual physician provides services (like a doctor’s office).

Physician - A physician is one type of healthcare professional that cares for patients, and is often the healthcare professional that leads a multidisciplinary team when patients need multiple types of care. There are many types of physicians, such as primary care physicians, cardiologists, radiologists, and surgeons.

Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) - The Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) is a voluntary program that allows physicians and other healthcare professionals to report information to Medicare about the portion of their Medicare patients who receive specific indicated types of care for specific medical conditions.
