  • Sep14 Darrell Issa: SO "UP IN SMOKE" NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN: today, the US House of Representatives passed the "No More Solyndras Act," which will put an end to the President's failed "green energy" loan program. What has that failed program cost American taxpayers so far? Solyndra, $535M gone. Abound Solar, $400M gone. Ener1, $118.5M gone. Beacon Power, $43M gone...that's your hard-earned money down the drain. Here's what Darrell had to say: “The operations of the Department of Energy’s loan guarantee program was rife with mismanagement and serious violations of federal law. Department officials illegally altered the terms of Solyndra’s loan agreement to advantage individuals who were invested in the company and political supporters of the President. American taxpayers lost millions. Congress needs to diligently protect how the government spends the hard-earned money of the American taxpayers.   • Sep14 Darrell Issa: BEHIND-THE-SCENES - ISSA RECOGNIZES PUBLIC SERVANT HELPING WOUNDED WARRIORS GET BACK IN ACTION: last night, Darrell awarded Dr. Chuck Scoville the 2012 Service to America Medal for National Security & International Affairs for his groundbreaking work on prosthetics for our Wounded Warriors. 300 of Dr. Scoville's Warriors have been able to choose to return to active duty, and 52 have redeployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Pictured with Darrell and Dr. Scoville is Major Rozelle, who shared his story of getting back in action because of the prosthetics and care provided by Dr. Scoville. He said no matter what is going on, Chuck drops everything to run to see one of his patient's "first steps."
