Buerkle Honored for Protecting Small Businesses
The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) recognized Representative Ann Marie Buerkle (NY-25) with its prestigious Guardian of Small Business award for her work on behalf of small businesses. “It is an honor to receive NFIB’s Guardian of Small Business award. Buerkle Takes Medical Device Tax Concerns to the President
Earlier this week Welch Allyn, a global medical device and solutions company headquartered in Skaneateles, New York, announced that it would lay off 275 employees, or 10 percent of its workforce over the next three years. The layoffs come as a direct result of the new 2.3 percent excise tax on the sale of medical devices that was instituted by President Obama’s healthcare law.
