Capito Statement On Anniversary Of 9/11 Attacks

Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., released the following statement in memory of those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks:

“For over a decade, we have mourned the loss of thousands of innocent victims who were killed or wounded in New York City, the Pentagon and United Flight 93.  Immediately after the attacks, West Virginians began organizing supply drives and coming together in prayer.  We came together as one nation, regardless of race, religion or party.

“The terrorists attacked our buildings but they cannot wound our spirit.  I am humbled by and proud of the brave first responders and men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces and intelligence operations, many of whom have made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedom at home and abroad.

“I ask that Wet Virginians join me in a moment of silence tomorrow on September 11th to honor the families and friends the victims leave behind.”
