HHS Announces Advisory Committee on Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood

The Department of Health and Human Services announced today it had invited 19 individuals to serve on the Secretary’s Advisory Committee on the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program Evaluation (MIECHV). The committee, which met today for its first session, is a federal advisory committee established by the Affordable Care Act, subject to prescribed appointment procedures.

The purpose of the Committee is to advise the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services on the design, plan and progress of the evaluation of the program required under the Affordable Care Act.

The individuals selected by the Secretary to serve on the Committee, are experts in program evaluation and research, education and early childhood development. They include:
