Are you up to the challenge? In the coming months, NIJ plans to release its first Challenge on Challenge.gov. Challenges allow the government to tap into the creativity of the American people so they can contribute their ideas to solve our nation's most pressing problems.
NIJ's Body Armor Challenge will seek viable solutions to determine the ability of body armor that is in use to continue to protect officers to the same degree as when the armor was new. The test must determine ballistic performance of the armor to a high degree of accuracy at any point in time while not rendering the armor unfit for continued use.
