    Annual NIH Institute Relay – Thursday, September 13, 11:45 a.m.

    The Relay consists of teams of five runners. Each runner completes a half mile loop around Bldg.1. The event is open to all Institutes, Centers, Divisions, and contractors.     Back-to-School Lunch and Learn Seminar — Thursday, September 13

    From noon to 1:00 pm in Building 31/6C Room 6, there will be a lunchtime seminar on "Bullying." For those unable to attend in person, this Lunch and Learn Parenting Seminar will be shown live on NIH Videocast. For more information, contact DATS at 301-402-8180.

    Foil the Flu — Influenza Vaccination Program

    The 2012-2013 schedule is now available on the Foil the Flu Web site. The location of this year's on-campus vaccination clinic is the Hatfield Clinical Research Center, Building 10, 7th Floor Atrium, East Side. (In the Hatfield CRC, take the central elevators adjacent to Admissions/Patient Travel to the 7th floor.) All Federal employees and contractors with a valid NIH identification badge will be provided the seasonal flu vaccine free of charge, while supplies last.     Prescription Drug Take-Back Day — Wednesday, September 26

    Federal employees will have the opportunity to safely, confidentially, and conveniently dispose of unwanted, unused, or expired prescription drugs. By participating in Federal Employee Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, you can help free your home from a potentially dangerous hazard – prescription drugs that can be misused and abused. Bring your unwanted, unused, or expired prescription drugs to one of the following convenient locations from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26 at Bldg. 31A Lobby; at the Neuroscience Center at 6001 Executive Boulevard, lobby cafeteria; In Baltimore, at the Biomedical Research Center (NIDA/NIA), 251 Bayview Blvd., Pharmacy, Suite 02A500. If you are unable to take advantage of Wednesday's event, National Prescription Drug Take-Back events are scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 29 at more than 5,000 collection sites throughout the United States.

    NIH Sponsors 2nd Annual Safety and Health Photo Contest — Submission Deadline September 30

    ORS/DOHS is holding the 2nd Annual "In Focus! Safe Workplaces for All" photo contest. Whether photography is your passion, your hobby or just an occasional pastime, you are invited to participate and capture an image displaying safe workplaces or activities, e.g., the repair of earthquake damage to the Washington Monument, laboratory workers using personal protective equipment, crossing guards on busy streets, etc. For more information, visit the Web site.
