Logic Model Builder for Postadoption Services Programs
Evaluating the outcomes of postadoption services programs is critical for program growth and improvement. Programs need to provide convincing evidence that their work makes important differences for the children, families, and communities they serve.
Child Welfare Information Gateway has developed the Logic Model Builder for Postadoption Services Programs, in conjunction with an advisory panel of adoption experts, to help postadoption programs in their evaluation efforts. The Logic Model Builder was designed to provide guidance in developing a logic model—that is, a picture of how a program works. Learn more about logic models (PDF - 24 KB) from the FRIENDS National Resource Center for Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention.
The Logic Model Builder for Postadoption Services Programs helps programs identify anticipated outcomes, indicators of success, and evaluation instruments that may be appropriate to measure success in postadoption services. The logic model will help you get started in planning an evaluation of your postadoption program and services.
The Logic Model Builder for Postadoption Services was developed by Child Welfare Information Gateway in collaboration with a national panel of adoption experts (PDF - 24 KB). The Logic Model Builder for Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention/Family Support Programs is a collaborative effort between the FRIENDS National Resource Center for Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention, which developed the content, and Child Welfare Information Gateway, which created the online application.
