Event Details

Purpose: The International Conference on Diabetes and Depression is a multidisciplinary meeting focused on the co-morbidity of these two significant, chronic conditions. The primary goals of the Conference are to (1) present current research related to the pathogenesis, prevention, and treatment of co-morbid diabetes and depression; and (2) identify important research gaps and opportunities that are likely to lead to improved care and outcomes for co-morbid diabetes and depression. The meeting will include expert speakers, discussants, and panelists who can address these issues from the United States’ and global perspectives.

Room Rate:  $189 (plus tax) per night

A block of sleeping rooms has been reserved at the hotel for arrival on Monday, October 8, 2012, and departure on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. You may make reservations by calling the hotel directly at (703) 713-1234. Be sure to indicate that you are requesting a room for the Diabetes and Depression room block when making your reservations to receive this reduced rate. The room block will be in effect at the reduced rate until Monday, September 17, 2012. Any room reservations received after that date will be accepted on a space and rate availability basis. Please note that reservations must be cancelled no later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled arrival date or one night’s room and tax will be charged. Check-in time is 3:00 p.m., and check-out time is 12:00 p.m.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION
From Washington DC:
Take Interstate-66 West to Exit 67, Dulles Toll Road West (Route 267). From the toll road, take Exit 10, Herndon/Chantilly. Turn left onto Centreville Road. Turn right at the third traffic light onto Sunrise Valley Drive. Drive approximately 1.5 miles and the Hyatt Dulles will be on the right.

From Baltimore and All Points North:
Take Interstate-95South to Exit 27, Interstate-495 West. Take Exit 45A, Dulles Toll Road West (Route 267). From the toll road, take Exit 10, Herndon/Chantilly. Turn left onto Centreville Road. Turn right at the third traffic light onto Sunrise Valley Drive. Drive approximately 1.5 miles and the Hyatt Dulles will be on the right.

From Dulles International Airport (IAD):
Follow exit signs to Route 28 South.  After taking the exit for Route 28 South, take the next right exit for Frying Pan Road.  At the first light make a left onto Sunrise Valley Road.  Drive approximately 1.5 miles and the Hyatt Dulles will be the left.

PARKING
Outdoor self-parking is complimentary.

SHUTTLE SERVICE
Complimentary hotel shuttle service is available to IAD. It starts at 5:15 a.m. and ends at 12:30 a.m. The shuttle runs every half an hour; it departs the hotel 15 minutes before the hour and 15 minutes after the hour. The airport drop-off and pick-up points are at curbs 2A or 2H on the hour and on the half hour. The 12:30 a.m. pick-up at the airport is the last one of the day.

TAXI
BWI:
Airport is a 1.5-hour drive and the fare is approximately $90 to $115.

Amtrak Union Station:
Train station is a 40-minute drive and the fare is approximately $55 to $65.

Ronald Reagan Airport:
Airport is a 50-minute drive and the fare is approximately $60.

Metro:
West Falls Church and Vienna Stations are both a 30-minute drive and the fare is approximately $40.
