The Stetten Museum was established at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda in 1986 as a part of the NIH centennial observance. The museum collects, preserves, and interprets biomedical research instruments and memorabilia, especially those related to the NIH. Museum exhibits seek to educate the public about the process of biomedical research, generally focusing on the research of NIH investigators. Most exhibits are located in the first floor lobby of the Clinical Center, the NIH Hospital (Building 10), on the campus. The most recent exhibits are "Revolution in Progress: Human Genetics and Medical Research," "Measuring Fluorescence in Medical Research: The AMINCO-Bowman Spectrophotofluorometer," "Researching Disease: Dr. Roscoe Brady and Gaucher Disease," and "Martin Rodbell: Discovering How Cells Respond to Signals."
