Did you feel like you ate too much after Thanksgiving dinner? That’s not uncommon. But if you get that feeling often, you may have indigestion and that should be treated.

Hi, I’m Dr. Griffin Rodgers, bringing you Healthy Moments from the NIH. I’m the Director of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.

Symptoms of indigestion include, pain or burning in the upper abdomen, feeling full during a meal, or having uncomfortable fullness after a meal. Indigestion may be occasional, but if you experience one or more of these symptoms for more than 2 weeks straight, or if they are severe, see a doctor.

Doctors have tests that can identify the problem. They may prescribe medications or suggest other treatments for indigestion such as reducing stress and changing your eating habits.

And for more information, visit our website at NIDDK or MyMajicDC.com Exit Disclaimer. This is Dr. Griffin Rodgers. Join me next week for more Healthy Moments.
