CPSC’s efforts to reduce drownings, non-fatal submersion injuries and entrapments throughout the United States are enhanced by the support and engagement of professionals in the pool and spa industry. These experts present a direct link to pool and spa owners and operators, a link that will assist CPSC in disseminating information about the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act (P&SS Act) and other water safety issues.
CPSC encourages industry professionals to use the resources available on the Pool Safely website to ensure that the facilities you manage and service are in compliance with the P&SS Act and to learn more about pool and spa safety.
Additionally, CPSC encourages pool and spa owners and operators to alert customers to key safety features and critical safety behaviors when they are around water to reduce the number of drowning and entrapment incidents in public pools and spas.
The National Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF) developed a free online course for complying with the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool &Spa Safety Act. This interactive program provides pool and spa operators and service specialists, as well as state and local regulators, with the information they need to make pools and spas compliant and to inspect for compliance with the Act.
