The Learning Disabilities Foundation of America is a tax-exempt public charity established in 1979 dedicated to providing funds for research and education and the promotion of public awareness of both children and adults with learning disabilities. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide support for charitable, scientific, literary or educational purposes, and for the accurate identification, ongoing evaluation and complete education of, and services for, children and adults with learning disabilities. The Foundation solicits grant proposals for research projects and related activities directed towards identifying the cause, and developing methods of prevention and treatment of learning disabilities, particularly where there is unmet need.
The Learning Disabilities Foundation of America offers free guides and booklets for parents and teachers, available in PDF (Portable Document Format). Serial publication: LDA Newsbriefs (newsletter), bimonthly--announcements of meetings and conventions, legislative updates, human interest stories, and research investigations; and Learning Disabilities Multidisciplinary Journal, a quarterly peer-reviewed publication, which has research-based articles.
