Description

Founded in 1951, the Academy is the professional organization for dentists specializing in implant dentistry (implantology). The Academy holds annual meetings for members, publishes an academic bi-monthly, promotes and supports research projects (including financial support), and informs the public of the advantages of implant dentistry when performed under strict, ethical standards imposed by the Academy on its member dentists.

Print Resources

The Academy publishes patient education materials, mostly in pamphlet form. Serial publications: The Journal of Oral Implantology (journal), six issues per year--case reports from dental implant practitioners and original research; Newsletter, quarterly--communication with membership on the functioning of various committees within the Academy.
