Shipping

To learn about standard processing and fulfillment procedures, please read, “What are the United States Mint’s Standard Processing and Fulfillment Procedures?”, FAQ #205.

The United States Mint offers its customers various shipping options. Orders completed by mail, phone, fax or through the United States Mint Online Catalog have a standard shipping fee of $4.95 per order.

  • Orders with Merchandise valued at $300 or more with a standard delivery option chosen will receive a complimentary upgrade to Expedited Shipping (UPS 2nd Day Air and does not include International orders). Gift Wrap and Shipping and Handling charges are not considered part of the Merchandise total.
     
  • Shipments containing any gold or platinum United States Mint collectibles with a standard delivery option chosen will receive a complimentary upgrade to Expedited Shipping (UPS 2nd Day Air).
     
  • If you choose Expedited shipping you will be charged a fee of $12.95 (UPS Next Day Air) regardless of if your shipment contains any gold or platinum United States Mint collectibles.
     
  • Orders are not valid until accepted by the United States Mint.
     
  • The United States Mint reserves the right to limit quantities and may discontinue accepting orders at any time.
     
  • The United States Mint reserves the right to accept or reject coin orders in any combination or option(s) it determines to be in its best interest.
     
  • In the event a particular coin option is sold out, the United States Mint reserves the right to either process partial orders and make refunds, or return orders in their entirety.

Standard Shipping

  • Orders being shipped by the standard shipping method are sent via FedEx Smart Post (ground), which uses the United States Postal Service (USPS) for final delivery. All orders can be tracked online. (Most customers can do this from our website.)
     
  • Registered and guest users may use Track Order to determine the status of your order and follow your shipment, provided the carrier supports this option. Guest users with other inquiries about their order, or those wishing to cancel an order prior to shipment, should contact Customer Service at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468).

Bags/Box of 500 coins or greater

  • You will be charged $7.95 per bag/box plus the appropriate shipping fee for your choice of standard, expedited, or international.
     
  • Packages shipped in the continental United States using the United States Mint's Standard shipping option usually arrive within 1 to 2 weeks.
     
  • There is no Expedited Shipping option available for International orders.

Expedited Shipping

  • You will be charged $12.95 for the United States Mint's Expedited Shipping option (UPS Next Day Air) plus the $4.95 standard shipping fee.
     
  • Packages shipped using the United States Mint's Expedited Shipping option usually ships within 2 to 3 business days.
     
  • Orders with Merchandise valued at $300 or more with a standard delivery option chosen will receive a complimentary upgrade to Expedited Shipping (UPS 2nd Day Air and does not include International orders). Gift Wrap and Shipping and Handling charges are not considered part of the Merchandise total.
     
  • Shipments containing any gold or platinum United States Mint collectibles with a standard delivery option chosen will receive a complimentary upgrade to Expedited Shipping (UPS 2nd Day Air).

  • Expedited shipping will be sent via one of two methods. APO, FPO and P.O. Box addresses are serviced by USPS Priority Mail with signature required. Orders shipped by Priority Mail can be tracked through the USPS Web site. All other addresses are serviced by UPS (Air and International). Orders shipped by UPS can be tracked through the UPS Web site.

International Shipping

  • You will be charged $14.95 plus a $2.95 handling fee per item for the United States Mint's International Shipping option. There will be an additional shipping and handling charge for oversized products, i.e., bags of 500 or 1000 coins.
     
  • Packages shipped using the United States Mint's International Shipping option usually arrive within 1 to 2 weeks.
     
  • There is no Expedited Shipping option available for International orders.
     
  • You may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are not reflected in our prices. Duties and taxes may be levied by your country or other overseas authority once a shipment reaches your country.
     
  • The United States Mint is not responsible for paying import duties and taxes that result from international purchases. Import duties and taxes are the full responsibility of the customer. You should contact your local customs office for further information on applicable duties, taxes, restrictions, and fees.
     
  • The United States Mint selects from a number of carriers to deliver your package.

Returns, Replacements, and Exchanges
 
  • If for any reason within 7 days of receiving your product you are dissatisfied with your purchase, return the entire product for refund or replacement. Shipping charges will not be refunded.
     
  • The United States Mint will not accept partial returns nor will it issue partial refunds. For example, if you receive a United States Mint Silver Proof Set™ where one coin is in unacceptable condition, you must return the entire Proof Set, not just the one coin, to receive a refund.
     
  • To return your product, use the reverse side of your packing slip to let us know why you decided to return your item(s) and your desired resolution (replacement, refund, or exchange) for each item. Use the provided return label or address your package to:

  • For your protection, we strongly recommend that you return your order by insured mail and save the receipt for your records. The United States Mint is not responsible for lost return shipments.
     
  • All refunds will be credited in United States Dollars.

Cancellations

  • You may cancel your order at any time prior to processing.

  • Orders for products that are in stock will be processed immediately and cannot be cancelled. Please see Returns, Replacements, and Exchanges for information on how to return your product.

Gift Box

  • You will be charged $5.95 per item for the United States Mint's Gift Box option. Charges are per boxed collectible. For example, if you order three United States Mint Annual Proof Sets™ and select the gift box option, you will be charged $17.85.
     
  • All collectibles are individually placed in an elegant, United States Mint blue (navy) gift box with a gold cord. In the example above, you will receive three separately boxed collectibles in your package.
     
  • A gift card bearing the following message will be included: A gift purchased specially for you from the United States Mint.
     
  • Gift Boxes are subject to search by customs officials. The United States Mint cannot guarantee your Gift Box will remain intact for international shipments.
     
  • Please Note: Some collectibles will be gift wrapped instead of placed into a box due to size, shape, or weight limitations. (See sample of Gift Box and Gift Wrapping.) If you choose to Gift Box the items below the United States Mint will use alternative gift packaging. This list is subject to change without notice.
