What's New

EPA released its fiscal year (FY) 2011 Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Sustainability and Energy Scorecard. In FY 2011, EPA met or exceeded all of the federal goals, scoring "Green" on all seven metrics.

In FY 2011, EPA continued to reduce energy and water intensity beyond federal requirements and to demonstrate environmental leadership in greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions, waste diversion, and green buildings. EPA released its 2011 Strategic Sustainability Performance Plan update in accordance with Executive Order (EO) 13514. Read the plan.

Ariel Rios Building Awarded ENERGY STAR®

The Ariel Rios Building at EPA Headquarters was awarded ENERGY STAR certification. This accomplishment was celebrated in a ceremony with representatives from EPA and GSA's Public Buildings Service on May 27, 2011.
