Environmental sustainability is the responsibility for sound environmental stewardship shared by all those whose actions may impact the environment.

In our daily work, we consume electricity, fuel, water, paper and office supplies, medical supplies, cleaning products and numerous other consumer goods. We are continually creating medical waste, hazardous wastes, garbage, pharmaceutical wastes, and waste electronics. When it comes to environmental sustainability, we all have a responsibility.

To reduce our impact on the environment, IHS staff, contractors, and suppliers must ensure that environmental considerations are introduced at the earliest stages possible when planning and implementing agency operations. This website provides information on how we can all protect the environment.
