- BREAKING NEWS: Two bipartisan bills I co-authored, the National Pediatric Research Network Act (H.R. 6163) and the Veteran Emergency Medical Technician Support Act (H.R. 4124), just passed the Energy and Commerce House Subcommittee unanimously! The National Pediatric Research Network Act is designed to help increase research and accelerate the development of clinical trials to treat rare pediatric diseases. And the Veteran Emergency Medical Technician Support Act would help states streamline their certification requirements for veterans with military emergency medical technician (EMT) training so they can more quickly become EMTs in the civilian workforce.

We must always remember this tragic event, and remain vigilant against those who would do our country harm. It is also a time to honor the commitment of the men and women in our military, and their families, who every day safeguard the freedoms we...hold so dear. Finally, we must not forget how on September 11th this country came together, standing united in support of freedom, tolerance, and equality. America's strength is most evident when we stand as one people, united in our commitment to one another and the liberty we enjoy. That strength is especially important to recall in these challenging times. Go to www.veteranscrisisline.net to learn the signs of a crisis and spread the word about the Veterans Crisis Line among Veterans and their friends and family members.- Yesterday I was so excited to join officials from Cal Poly’s College of Agriculture, the California Conservation Corps, Morro Bay National Estuary Program, and other state and federal agencies to celebrate the completion of Cal Poly’s Rainwater Harvesting Demonstration Project. This project is a win-win for Cal Poly, our local farmers and ranchers, and our environment!
