  1. Newington - The frigid temperatures haven't stopped the crews working on the Victory Gardens supportive housing development located on the grounds of the Newington Campus. Siding is now up and the complex is really starting to look like a neighborhood. Once completed, the 74 units will be home to formerly homeless veterans and veterans at-risk for homelessness along with their families.

  3. The 16th annual New England Winter Sports Clinic for disabled Veterans was a smashing success. Veterans of all abilities, volunteers, and VA staff gathered at Mt. Sunapee, NH, from January 14-17th. New participants got their first taste of ......freedom on the slopes while returning veterans honed their skills learned in years past. The value of this experience is immeasurable. In a team environment Veterans and family members learn to participate in winter sport activities regardless of disability. Some Veterans learn to use adaptive equipment to hit the slopes as independent skiers while others learn to work with a ski partner, family member, or friend to accomplish what once seemed impossible. It is our sincere hope that the skills we teach help Veteran’s live stronger, healthier, and happier lives through participation in socially fulfilling and physically challenging leisure activities.
