Aboriginal Health Collection

     The Aboriginal Health Collection contains unique resources on all aspects of Aboriginal health.
     Books, DVDs, videos and reports are located at the John Neal Mclean Health Sciences Library
     and are listed in the University of Manitoba Libraries catalogue. If a publication is freely
     available on the internet, a link is provided from the catalogue to the publication.

Canadian Aboriginal AIDS Network
     A non-profit coalition of individuals and organizations which provides leadership, support, and
     advocacy for Aboriginal people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS, regardless of where they
     reside.

First Nations and Inuit
(Health Canada)
     In this section you will find information on how to stay healthy, learn about disease threats
     and health conditions; substance use and help with addictions; drug, dental and medical
     benefits as well as what programs and funding are available for First Nations and Inuit in
     Canada.

Four Directions Teaching
(Department of Canadian Culture and National Indigenous Literacy Association)
     Four Directions Teachings celebrates Indigenous oral traditions by honoring the process of listening
     with intent as each elder or traditional teacher shares a teaching from their perspective on the richness
     and value of cultural traditions from their nation. In honor of the timelessness of Indigenous
     oral traditions, audio narration is provided throughout the site, complimented by
     beautifully animated visuals.

National Aboriginal Health Organization
     The National Aboriginal Health Organization (NAHO) is an Aboriginal-designed
     and -controlled body committed to influencing and advancing the health and well-being
     of Aboriginal Peoples by carrying out knowledge-based strategies.

Native Hawaiian Health
     The Native Hawaiian Health Web site is dedicated to improving Native Hawaiian wellness
     by providing information on health and wellness for you, your family and your community.

Native Hawaiian Health Resources
(The Queen's Medical Center, Hawaii Medical Library)
     Provides Web links, associations and organizations, funding resources,
     general resources and U.S. government resources.

Native Hawaiian Healthcare Program
(Health Resources and Services Administration/DHHS)
     The Native Hawaiian Health Care Program, funded within the health center appropriation,
     improves the health status of Native Hawaiians by making health education, health
     promotion, and disease prevention services available through the support of
     Native Hawaiian Health Care Systems.

Office of Aboriginal Health
(Department of Health, Australia)
      The Office of Aboriginal Health works in partnership with Aboriginal communities and health
      service providers to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) people receive
      culturally appropriate health care that meets their needs.
