Peter The Mint Eagle

Peter The Mint Eagle

Greetings and salutations!  I'm always delighted to meet numismatic youngsters such as yourself.

Let me introduce myself.  I'm Peter the Mint Eagle.  Some folks call me an "egghead."  I prefer "bookish."  Let's just say, when it comes to knowing facts about coins, I never draw a blank.  Consider me your very own "Professor of Coins."

Here is some useful information about me...

Favorite coin in my collection:  Why, the new American Eagle platinum, of course!

How I like to spend my days:  Archiving my coin collection, inventing magnificent machines, and reading the stacks of books in my library.

Personal hero:  Benjamin Franklin.  Not only was he a great inventor, but Franklin also wrote the mottoes for the first coin issued by the U.S. government.  The Fugio Cent is also called the Franklin Cent.  My favorite fact?  The way "Fugio" is used on this coin means "time flies!"

I coined the phrase:  "A kid who knows the value of coins is one wise bird!"

Did you know there was another Peter at the Mint?  Click "Meet my Ancestor" and I will tell you all about him.
