Basic Requirements

• U.S. native or naturalized citizen
• Less than 44 years of age (this may be adjusted upward for current/prior active duty service)
• Meet current medical and security requirements

Degrees

D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree from a program that is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association.

Licensure*

Current, unrestricted, and valid dental license to practice in one of the 50 states; Washington, DC; Commonwealth of Puerto Rico; U.S. Virgin Islands; or Guam.

*If you recently graduated from dental school and do not yet have a state dental license, you may still apply to the Commissioned Corps. If you qualify, your call to active duty will occur after you have provided documentation of a current, unrestricted, and valid state dental license.
