The United States Mint H.I.P. Pocket Change^™ Pals are off on a new 'round-the-world adventure!  Their visit to New Zealand adds trip number three to the Coins of the World cartoon series.  Join them as they explore some of the things that make New Zealand unique and some of the things that our two nations share in common—like coins!

As usual, you'll get a passport and a travel allowance to start your trip.  The New Zealand Travel Guide will tell you about the country, and you'll get to see the sights with your Pals.  At the end of the journey, the "customs quiz" will help you remember some fun facts and earn coin souvenirs to print.  So pack your bags!  The flight is now boarding at gate 2005 for New Zealand!

You're not likely to find the 2005 Marine Corps 230th Anniversary Commemorative Silver Dollar in your change, but Plinky likes it.  This new dollar marks the 230th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps.  The Corps began all the way back at the Revolutionary War and has proudly served our country in many ways since then.

Plinky will be happy to tell you all about it at July's Coin of the Month page.  There's even more about it on the 2005 commemorative coins page in Coin News...including just what a commemorative coin is, and why you don't see them every day.

This summer, you just might come across an Oregon quarter, the most recently-released coin of the 50 State Quarters^® Program.  Find out why June is a special month in the history of Oregon's Crater Lake and why Nero the Mint Police Dog has chosen the Oregon quarter as June's Coin of the Month when you visit this Coin News feature.

Nero will tell you about Crater Lake, some of its history and legend, and the islands of volcanic ash also shown on the coin.  Don't be surprised if you find Nero spending his vacation at Crater Lake National Park...or at least in a hammock beside the Oregon quarter!

And, like all the quarters in the Program so far, Oregon's quarter has its own page under "The Coins Are Coming."

Pocket Change^™ Web site has all kinds of activities for young coin adventurers, and the coin-shaped icons on each page are a handy way to navigate the site.  But where can kids find a guide to the whole site?  Inspector Collector has the answer at Camp Coin:  the Kids' Guide!

The Kids' Guide has been rolled up into six buttons:  Action, Adventure, Art, Puzzles, Facts, and Collecting.  Clicking each button gives you a list of features.  Click a feature and you find out what that feature is all about, along with an icon that takes you to it with a flick of the finger.  Let the Kids' Guide help you make heads or tails of it all!
