Collaborate

Nanotechnology research in cancer spans the range from exploratory research to technology innovation and involves a broad spectrum of disciplines such as engineering, mathematics, computer science, and the physical, biological, environmental, and materials sciences. Programs need to be structured synergistically to foster integration among the physical, biological, and clinical sciences.

Collaborative work is important in many fields of research, yet true cross-disciplinary interactions are rare. The NCI Alliance for Nanotechnology in Cancer provides the "activation energy" to bridge the usual gap between physical and biomedical sciences, and then to transform the approach to cancer diagnosis and treatment.
