Governmental Advisory Committee

Preparing Advice from State, Local and Tribal Governments

The Governmental Advisory Committee advises the U.S. Representative (the Administrator of EPA) to the Commission for Environmental Cooperation on specific U.S. government policy issues related to the implementation of the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation. The Committee is responsible for providing recommendations to help assure that state, local and tribal governments are represented in the development of U.S. policy positions regarding implementation of the environmental Supplemental Agreements to the North American Free Trade Agreement.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is inviting nominations from a diverse range of qualified candidates to be considered for appointment to fill vacancies on the National Advisory Committee (NAC) and the Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC) to the U.S. Representative to the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC). Please see the Federal Register Notice, Text or PDF (2 pp, 55K, About PDF), for more information.
