Whats Going On

We've Been Nominated!

Chase Giving

                                                          Vote Now

Out of thousands of charities across the nation, the National Stuttering Association was chosen to take part in the 2012 Chase Community Giving program. In this year's program, Chase asked their customers and employees to tell them which charities meant the most to them—and we were among those nominated!

As you know, the NSA is a non-profit organization, and even though the NSA is the largest support organization in the world for people who stutter, we’re a mostly volunteer nonprofit that receives no government funding and only a few grants, which means that our very existence depends upon financial support from our members and other sources, such as this.

Now that the nominations are in, Chase is inviting all of the eligible charity nominees to be a part of the voting phase, after which Chase will be granting $5 million to over 195 local charities. Voting takes place from September 6th-19th, so make sure that your voice...and vote...are heard!

You can vote on the NSA's Chase Giving Online Profile or on the NSA's Chase Giving Facebook Page, and be sure to check out how you can earn extra votes!

You're not alone. We're here to help.

Welcome to the National Stuttering Association (NSA), the largest self-help support organization in the United States for people who stutter. Our mission is to bring hope and empowerment to children and adults who stutter, their families, and professionals through support, education, advocacy, and research.

Support

The National Stuttering Association’s motto, “If You Stutter, You Are Not Alone,” is what our local support groups are all about! For many, NSA chapter meetings are the first time they have ever talked about stuttering with other people who stutter. Local support groups are a proven way to build self-confidence, practice speaking in a safe environment, and explore new ways to cope with stuttering. Chapter meetings are open to those who stutter, parents/significant others/friends of stutterers, speech-language pathologists (SLPs), and anyone that wants to learn more about stuttering.

NSAKids groups are designed for young children who stutter and their parents. This is a new program for the NSA, and several NSAKids groups are just getting started around the country.

TWST (Teens Who Stutter) groups are designed for teenagers who stutter and their families. Teen groups help adolescents who stutter meet others who have faced similar challenges in their lives.

ADULT chapters are designed for adults who stutter and their families. Our Adult Chapters form one of the core programs of the NSA.
