About the Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC)
The SFLC organization is comprised of a Workforce Services Division, five shared service divisions and the Coast Guard Yard, and five product lines. See inside the SFLC
Functions, roles and responsibilities
The SFLC product lines provide total logistics and engineering support for the naval assets that fall within the product line. The Product Line Manager (PLM) is the primary point of contact for the operational unit, and the single point of accountability for any asset-related issue, system, or equipment.
NESUs are field-level commands of the Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) and report to the Chief, Industrial Operations Division (IOD) within the SFLC. SFLC Product Line Managers (PLM) is the touch point for fleet support needs. In coordination with PLMs, the NESUs interact with cutters, Districts, Sectors and Units with surface assets as part of the overall depot level support scheme for cutters and boats CG-wide.
Industrial Service Activities (ISAs) are Coast Guard-owned locally-distributed providers of depot-level maintenance and repair for Civil Engineering and C4IT communities as well as Naval Engineering support. ISAs and detachments (ISDs) report directly to their local NESU and provide IOD-level visibility of their schedules and work assignments to ensure that the CG's limited core repair resources are centrally managed, locally controlled and efficiently & effectively applied in alignment with Coast Guard priorities. ISAs typically support cutter dockside availabilities, boat availabilities, buoy maintenance, casualty response, facilities repair and more.
SFLC Maintenance & Weapons Augmentation Activity (MWAs) is executed by the Maintenance Augmentation Teams (MATs) and Weapons Augmentation Teams (WATs), and reside within the NESUs or as detachments of the NESUs. Their primary responsibilities include cutter preventive and corrective maintenance.
