Drug Facts

Reliable facts about marijuana and other drugs do not fall back on scare tactics or oversimplification.  Many drug education campaigns have sent the message that drug use is a uniform phenomenon with straightforward causes and solutions.  To understand a drug, you need to understand its effects, why people use it, and the risk it poses in terms of both health and criminal penalties.  DPA believes that honest drug facts are the best path to preventing teen drug use and establishing a dialogue of trust between young people and educators.

Looking at the whole picture of a drug includes making a distinction between the harm that can be caused by the substance itself and the harm caused by drug war policies.  DPA strives to provide accurate facts about both in order to encourage responsible behavior and promote drug policy reform.
