Sameer Siddiqi

Sameer Siddiqi is a Research Associate in the Office of the Associate Director of ARP. Mr. Siddiqi joined NCI in 2010 as a CRTA Fellow in ARP, where he has helped support a range of ARP's energy balance activities, including those related to the National Collaborative on Childhood Obesity ResearchExternal Web Site Policy and the NIH Obesity Research Task Force. He has also worked closely with the Risk Factor Monitoring and Methods Branch in the development of surveillance and measurement resources relevant to childhood obesity. Prior to joining ARP, he was a Research Assistant at the Texas Obesity Research Center in Houston with a focus in social media-driven obesity interventions and assessment of the built environment. Earlier, he was a Kaiser Family Foundation Barbara Jordan Health Policy Scholar and Legislative Fellow in the Office of Congressman John Lewis in Washington, DC, where he worked on obesity prevention and health care reform issues. Mr. Siddiqi has also served in the City of Houston Mayor's Office of Health and Environmental Policy, where he studied geographic disparities in environmental health. He graduated from the University of Houston with a BS in Biology. As a Research Associate for the Applied Research Program, he is continuing his work on energy balance with the Risk Factor Monitoring and Methods Branch and working directly with the Associate Director of ARP.
