Remembering Lee Alverson

Dr. Dayton "Lee" Alverson, who served as the Center's Science Director from 1970-1980, passed away on January 19. He was an internationally recognized expert in world fisheries, and helped establish the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone to protect North Pacific fisheries.

New book: wild and hatchery salmon interactions

Several NWFSC scientists published a new book co-edited by NWFSC's Barry Berejikian that explores the interactions of wild and hatchery salmonids. The book lays the groundwork for understanding the effects of salmon and steelhead hatcheries and managing the ecological risks.

California Current Large Marine Ecosystem's fisheries and habitat data.
Ocean Conditions and Salmon Forecasting -- Explore biological and physical indicators of the California Current ecosystem and how these data help scientists forecast salmon survival.
Scientific Data and Tools -- A portal for resource managers, collaborators, and other scientific data users. Note: some databases are password-protected.
Observer Program Data -- Explore summaries of bycatch estimates, groundfish mortality, and coverage levels collected aboard observed U.S. West Coast fishing vessels.
