Organisation For Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

OECD brings together the governments of countries committed to democracy and world economy to: 

  • Support sustainable economic growth 
  • Boost employment 
  • Raise living standards 
  • Maintain financial stability 
  • Assist other countries' economic development 
  • Contribute to growth in world trade

OECD has 30 member countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States. 

OECD MEMBERSHIP 

Once a country has been invited to join OECD, that country must first meet OECD conditions. This assessment occurs during what is known as the accession process. There are currently accession talks with Chile, Estonia, Israel, Russia and Slovenia.
