CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION

This one-day conference discussed recent economic research related to consumer behavior. This academic-style conference consisted of academic “research-in-progress” or “overview” presentations and a panel discussion on policy and related topics. Participants included economists and other professionals from both academia and government. The conference discussed a number of important topics relating to consumer protection policy at the Commission, including the regulation of financial transactions, disclosures, and advertising.
