Visit the Inspector Generals Recovery WebsitesThe American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 mandates that funds distributed under the Recovery Act are subject to unprecedented accountability.  Inspectors General, therefore, continually review their agencies' management of Recovery funds to ensure that:

  • Recovery funds were awarded and distributed in a prompt, fair, and reasonable manner;
  • Recovery funds are used for authorized purposes, and that steps are in place to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse;
  • Recovery projects avoid unnecessary delays and cost-overruns and that they meet goals and targets
