What Is RSS?

RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, is an XML-based format for sharing and distributing Web content, such as news headlines. RSS is an easy way for you to keep up with news and information that are important to you, without browsing or searching for information on Web sites.

What Is an RSS Reader?

An RSS reader, or aggregator, is a small software program that collects and displays RSS feeds. It allows you to scan headlines from a number of sources in a central location.

Where Can I Get an RSS Reader?

A number of free and commercial RSS readers are available online. Also, some browsers, including the current versions of Firefox and Internet Explorer, offer RSS services for their users. NREPP does not endorse any particular RSS reader or service.

How Do I Access the RSS Feed?

An RSS reader downloads and displays RSS feeds. By selecting an RSS feed, you can view information from various Web sites, including headlines, summaries, links to full stories, and campaign and program information.
